The Harbourside Liquor Accord encompasses the area covered by the Harbourside Local Area Command which incorporates North Sydney Council, Mosman Municipal Council and parts of Willoughby Council. That is, the suburbs of North Sydney, Neutral Bay, Cammeray, Cremorne, Mosman, Crows Nest, MacMahons Point, Kirribilli, Waverton, Woolstonecraft , St Leonards, Greenwich.

The Accord comprises two precincts:

  • North Sydney Precinct covering members in lower north shore
  • Chatswood Precinct covering members from Artarmon through Willoughby, Lane Cove and Chatswood

Over 300 licensed venues are located within these precincts including hotels, clubs, small bars, restaurants, cafes, bottle shops, theatres, function venues and licensed motor vessels offering both residents and visitors a wide range of social, dining, recreational and entertainment options.

Bounded by the magnificent waterways of Sydney Harbour and Middle Harbour, the area is home to tourist attractions including Luna Park and Taronga Park Zoo, many historical sites and heritage listed buildings, the vibrant North Sydney CBD, the luxury retail precincts of Mosman and Neutral Bay and the vibrant creative hub of Crows Nest.

The residential areas comprise an interesting mix of dwellings and hence a range of patrons from the medium to high density apartment complexes in Milsons Point, Cremorne and Cammeray, through tree lined streets of classic terraces characteristic of Neutral Bay, North Sydney and Crows Nest, to leafy suburbs of traditional family homes and luxury waterfront mansions.

The Harbourside Liquor Accord provides the forum where local licensees can collaborate with specialist Licensing Police, local and state government agencies and relevant stakeholders to ensure venues continue to create safe and enjoyable hospitality experience for patrons whilst balancing the highly valued quality of community life in the area.

The Harbourside Liquor Accord Incorporated was on 7 December 2011 under the Associations Incorporations Act 2009 and operates under its Constitution.
The Committee, elected by the members, controls and manages the affairs of the Accord subject to the Act, the Regulation and its Constitution.

The Committee consists of the office-bearers of the Accord and at least three ordinary committee members.  

Accord Meetings are held on the third Wednesday in February, June and October and offer members the opportunity to discuss emerging issues, education and best practice strategies, review up-to-date regulatory information and adopt problem solving initiatives.

The Accord proactively undertakes projects which are specifically tailored to impact issues affecting member premises and the local community and its ability to respond effectively and in a timely manner to local issues, provides assurance to both member licensees and members of the community.
